This film has been heralded as ‘Silence of the Lambs’ meets Seven by the studios. And I’m afraid those auspicious advertisements only left room for film goers to be as disappointed as I was.

Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie) is a young policewoman who discovers a grisly crime scene left by a serial killer. That day she also discovers that she has an instinctual talent for forensics. Or so we are let to believe by Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington). Rhyme is a former cop who is now a paraplegic, forensics textbook author.
